CCSE results are normally communicated about 20 days after the exam. Instituto Cervantes emails candidates when results are published; the private candidate area shows the result and provides the electronic certificate.
When Are CCSE Results Published?
Instituto Cervantes says results are normally communicated about 20 days after the exam. Candidates receive an email when their result is available. This is an approximate period, not a guaranteed publication date for every convocatoria.
Delays can happen. If the normal period has passed, check the official exam news page, your candidate area, and messages from your exam center before relying on an unofficial result calendar.
How to Check Your CCSE Result
- Wait for the Instituto Cervantes result email or an official publication notice.
- Open the official candidate login from the Instituto Cervantes website.
- Use the same personal account credentials associated with your registration.
- Open the area for your certifications or completed exams.
- Read the global result and download the electronic certificate when available.
CCSE English never asks for your Instituto Cervantes username, password, NIE, certificate, or Código Seguro de Verificación. If the official login remains unavailable and you need help, use the Instituto Cervantes candidate support service.
What Apto, No apto, and No presentado Mean

The official certificate reports only the global result. It does not show the exact number of correct answers or identify which questions were wrong.
Download and Protect Your CCSE Certificate
The private candidate area provides an electronically signed certificate. It has evidentiary value for the Spanish nationality process and is valid for four years from its issue date, according to Instituto Cervantes.
The certificate contains a Código Seguro de Verificación, usually called a CSV. An organization or individual can use that code in the official verification service to confirm the certificate's authenticity. Treat the CSV carefully: Instituto Cervantes warns that sharing it allows another person to access the certificate's contents and perform related electronic checks.

Can You Request a Review?
Instituto Cervantes says a candidate with a No apto result can submit one review request through the private candidate area. Its current CCSE FAQ says the review period is one calendar month from publication of the result. Check the exact dates announced for your convocatoria.
The review process examines the exam documentation and reports from the exam center. It does not provide access to, return, or reproduce the answer sheet or other exam documentation.
Your Second Opportunity After No apto or No presentado
A first result of No apto or No presentado gives the candidate a second CCSE registration without paying the exam fee again, subject to Instituto Cervantes conditions. The current FAQ says:
- The second opportunity is only for a first No apto or No presentado.
- It must be taken at the same exam center.
- It must take place within a maximum of six months from the original exam date.
- It cannot be requested until the first convocatoria's results have been published.
- A candidate who is already Apto cannot use a second opportunity.
Use your official candidate area or contact Instituto Cervantes to confirm the available date and complete the second registration. Do not pay a third party to “unlock” the included second opportunity.

Download the certificate, store a secure backup, protect its CSV, and check the current Ministry of Justice requirements for your nationality application. This guide is general information, not legal advice.
If your result is No apto
Note the review deadline, confirm your second-opportunity window, and begin focused preparation. Because the official result does not show individual mistakes, use your memory of difficult task areas and fresh mock-exam results to decide what to review first.
If your result is No presentado
Wait until the result is published, then confirm the second registration through the official account or candidate support. Check the requirement to use the same exam center and the six-month deadline before making other plans.
